Greg Schmidt is the founder of Space For Good and a retired senior leader at NASA, where he served for more than four decades in roles spanning human spaceflight, science program management, and international collaboration.
He was a founder of the NASA Astrobiology Institute and later served as founding Deputy Director of the NASA Lunar Science Institute, eventually becoming director of its successor, the Solar System Exploration Research Virtual Institute (SSERVI). Over his career, Greg received multiple NASA medals and awards for scientific leadership, innovation, and service.
Beyond science management, Greg has played a central role in communicating space exploration to global audiences. His work has contributed to two Emmy Awards for live science coverage, a Webby Award for digital storytelling, and numerous high-impact public engagements.
